Located in the northern hills of Kerala, Wayanad is a popular tourist destination known for its extensive camping and trekking trails, stunning waterfalls, caves, bird-watching areas, diverse wildlife, and numerous breathtaking sights.

It’s also celebrated for its unique selection of products, including spices, coffee, tea, bamboo items, honey, and herbal plants. A popular attraction is the Kanthanpara Waterfalls, which draws visitors worldwide. Furthermore, Wayanad offers the opportunity to see the beauty of Karapuzha Dam, Pookode Lake, and Karlad Lake, along with the Cheengari Rock Adventure Center.

Wayanad has a healthy climate year-round, with a yearly average rainfall of 2322 mm. The most rainy places are Lakkidi, Vythiri, and Meppadi, where it can rain up to 4,000 mm annually. The southwest monsoon brings strong winds, while March-April is the dry season. The area’s misty surroundings provide excellent opportunities for hiking, visiting plantations, and wildlife tours.
